Position title: Sustainability Tracking Specialist

Shift schedule: Office Hours

Job summary: The Sustainability Tracking Specialist is responsible for entering sustainability labeled finished goods quantities into a designated database in order to identify raw material usage by ingredient, and lots numbers used in producing finished product.  File for certification certificates with appropriate certifying bodies and send final certificate to appropriate customer.

This position requires strong math aptitude and customer relations.

External Customers:       Blommer customers, sustainability certification organizations

Internal Customers:        Commodity, sales, quality assurance, customer services, regulatory

Internal Suppliers:           Commodity, operations

Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Maintain precise tracking of sustainability labeled finished products company-wide; provide up-to-date information to customers and auditors following appropriate procedures as defined by certifying organizations including Rainforest Alliance, UTZ Good inside, Fair Trade, RSPO, and others that may be added.
  • Generate reports for all of Blommer’s sustainable products, assessing compliance to the specific sustainable standard for Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, UTZ, RSPO, Sassandra, and Organic, and others that may be added.
  • Issue completed paperwork to certifying organization and request certificate of sustainability.
  • Forward received certificates of sustainability directly to customer, maintaining appropriate internal records for verification and audit trail.
  • Notify supervisor of any changes to certification process as defined by the certifying organization; update internal SOP to ensure ongoing compliance of reporting and notify internal suppliers of any change or additional documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Identify any ongoing concerns with internal data accuracy, notify supervisor to ensure issues are resolved and minimize the delay the issuing of certificates from the certifying bodies.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing facilities to prepare for Sustainable Audits; provide necessary documents and issue in appropriate presentation format such as binder.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma minimum
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and web portal systems.
  • Proficiency in math
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes a plus

Work Environment:

  • General office environment
  • Must sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Extensive work on computer
